Question 1

Is SHIPIT Logistics a licensed freight forwarder?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SHIPIT Logistics is an FMC-licensed Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OFF and NVOCC, Org# 004869, License# 001803), an IATA/CNS licensed air forwarder (IATA/CNS# 01134480012), a TSA licensed Indirect Air Carrier, and an FMCSA licensed property broker (USDOT# 2629896, MC-910043) and freight forwarder (FF# 53067).

Question 2

Should I ship FCL or LCL?

Accepted Answer

As a general rule of thumb, LCL (less than container load) is usually more economical for smaller volumes, while FCL (full container load) becomes more cost-effective as your cargo approaches roughly half a 20-foot container or more. FCL also reduces handling and transit variability. Our team compares both options for every lane.

Question 3

What is buyer's consolidation?

Accepted Answer

Buyer's consolidation combines purchase orders from multiple suppliers at an origin warehouse into a single shipment. Importers lower per-unit freight costs, simplify documentation and customs entries, and gain better control of inventory arrival.

Question 4

When must an ISF (10+2) be filed for U.S. imports?

Accepted Answer

For ocean shipments destined to the United States, the Importer Security Filing must be submitted to U.S. Customs and Border Protection at least 24 hours before the cargo is loaded onto the vessel at the foreign port. SHIPIT files ISF and handles customs brokerage in-house.

Question 5

Can SHIPIT Logistics handle dangerous goods?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SHIPIT is certified to handle dangerous goods and hazmat by sea, air and road under IATA, ICAO, IMDG and DOT 49 CFR regulations.

Question 6

Accepted Answer
